Open to boys and girls ages fourteen to sixteen, the
Counselor-In-Training program is a two year program designed for teens
interested in working with children and developing leadership skills. This
program is carefully supervised and provides work-oriented experience giving
a CIT the opportunity to train under experienced staff while assisting in the
day-to-day operations of the camp. CITs will meet both individually and as a
group with the CIT coordinator for workshops, planning, team-building
exercises, and leadership training sessions. They will participate in the
daily activities and special events at the camp and in field trips each week. |
Sports There is never a dull moment in this mix of sports including basketball, soccer, baseball, kickball, races and relays, and other new and exciting games. Campers will learn about sportsmanship and the joy of athletics while gaining the benefits of physical activity. Art Each week will focus on different projects including painting and drawing, sculpting with paper mache, jewelry/accessory making, sponge painting, art around the world or other projects to bring out their inner creativity. Science Each week campers will conduct fun experiments and hands-on projects as they explore science. Power Photo Campers will take pictures and explore individual talents with Photoshop as they help develop the end-of-week slide show presentation with PowerPoint, photos and more. Performing Arts Develop, choreograph and produce a music video or camp newscast. From start to finish, campers will star in these mini productions. Tennis With the new addition of tennis courts to our campus, campers will now be able to learn the basic skills before running with them in a fun and competitive environment. Water Games Most afternoons campers will be able to participate in games, races, and relays all involving water to cool down in the summer heat. Sprinklers, slip and slide, water balloons and other creative activities are all part of the fun. Nature Walks Explore the many acres of the Upper School on the adventure trails through the woods. For those campers who really want to bring out the adventure-side, we offer a great creek walk. Parents will be notified in advance of this activity so that campers come prepared with an old pair of sneakers or water shoes. No Crocs, sandals or flip flops on this walk. Archery For our TRAILBLAZERS ONLY, archery will be taught each week with daily challenges and end of week tournaments.
